It's Time Poem by Onyx Obasi

It's Time

She was once glorified with titles,
She was once adorned with jewels
Her winkles we're once laughter winkles
But now,
She lies awaiting
With longing in the eyes
But is there hope?
No matter how dirty and disabled she looks
She rise again not given up
But only to hit the stone clad floor
Reminding her of her reality
Her children has gone far away from her
She is despised
She is pitied
She is broken
Ahh... who will redeem her?
She has been sold, battered and crushed
She has broken physical, emotionally and mentally
She is being pitied by those who walked on her
Ahh... My motherland
Arise, Arise
It's time to be Reborn
