It Shone Poem by James Deschain

It Shone

It shone out, black and dark as night. Dark but not bad.
It shone out, Strong and hard as stone. Strong but not unkind.
It shone, glistening in the dew, sharp. Sharp but gentle.
Dark and light, strong and wise, keen and gentle.

A friend.

A very good friend indeed.
