It Was Poem by jalyssa elliott

It Was

Drop it.
Let it go,
and the winds of change
shall make it old.
It entered me
like pain so deep
it could never be reached.
It gripped me,
strangled me dry
of passion,
like the never ending desert.
And I succombed
and conquered
and lived.
I stand bedraggled by
The never ending battle between
sanity and insanity
love and hate
and
indifference
