It was love at the first call—
As soon as He spoke,
On the Day of Alast, when He addressed
My soul.
My entire being trembled,
Awoke,
This awe—this grace—undeniable.
I cannot recall,
It was that first meeting,
His gentle declaration of who He is,
And what He holds dear in Himself.
I affirmed His absolute lordship
When I heard His soft call:
'Am I not your Lord? '
I heard His words,
And from my soul, I confirmed,
'Yes, my Lord! '
For I knew,
He alone was worthy.
With great courage, I bowed my head—
I told Him:
I want Him in my life,
No matter the cost,
No matter the trials.
He knew,
He found a soul
That would accept Him
Exactly as He is.
With joy, He accepted
My obedience,
And sealed the covenant gladly.
But I did not know
That the life ahead
Would test the promise
My soul had made.
