Itching Mystery You Poem by Tara Crown

Itching Mystery You

Rating: 4.5

As you walked today
in quiet unquestioned flow
like water over stones
you left parts behind
wet footprints
shimmering abundance
that reflected my face
when I bent down for a closer look.

That piece of sky behind my silhouette and
that piece of your light behind my eyes
there in perfect stillness
gazing back at me and
rippling a mirrored grin
at the touch of my extended fingertip
and focused attention.

Mellifluous the words you spoke
I saw them sprout from your tongue
then lift from your lips like petals
spinning, twirling, dancing
on your breath
they slipped right through my fingers
to catch in my hair
and finally rest in my heart.

Oh these little clues you leave for me
a trail of wakeful seeds on my path
gifting glimpses of your infinite bloom
the inside flower
ever unfolding amber and gold
or the sweet scent of a fresh pool of rain
that lingers in the air around you
and does back flips in my memory!

Tara, this is pure delight. Sensuous, imagey, tasty - fantastic. And your turn of phrase, Tara ('Mellifluous', 'catch in my hair and finally rest in my heart') , uy Tara, I need your poems. With admiration (as well as a perfect 10) , Gina.
