It doesn't take a grand
To help someone stand,
And it doesn't cost a penny
To give care or sympathy.
It doesn't cost a nickel
To get someone out of a pickle
And it doesn't cost a dime
To give someone your time.
It doesn't cost a quarter
To be a caring supporter
And it doesn't cost a dollar
To give someone a friendly holler.
It doesn't cost a thing
For your care and help to bring,
And when someone's spirit you do lift
It becomes the greatest free gift.
