It's futile—
Swimming in the heart's shallows.
I must dive deep,
Plunge into its depths,
To uncover wisdom's pearls,
To retrieve the oysters long concealed.
Hypocrisy,
Ignorance,
Illusion,
False ego—
These lurk within,
Even when I deem myself free.
What I've cast away returns,
What I've ignored persists.
The mind—weighted,
Bound by inertia's chains.
The heart struggles,
Its depths murky with sludge.
Only through the dive—
Through the soul's honest labor—
Can I cleanse,
Can I retrieve my truth.
