Its Hot - Poem by Kathryn Brookins

The sun is hot and there is sweat on my brow,
There must be an easier way... but how?

Working from sun up to sun down,
I am hot and need a rest.
I will sit for a moment, while no one is around.
Then I can feel a little refreshed.

Drink me some water and eat a quick snack,
I am on my time today, and can do as I like..
As soon as I am done, I will get back,
After working, I can ride my bike.

Yard work, looks so good when completed,
admiring it when I am finished feels good,
but then next week it will need to be repeated.
Looking just as a yard should.

Two days tops, Its looks so great!
something to be proud of...
then in no time, again, reaches bad shape,
Yard work, you gotta love :)

But summer is here and today is too hot,
I think this will take two days to finish,
this yard needs alot!
I will continue once I am replinished...

Of energy that seems to be drained,
by the sun alone, I am tired..
My leg muscles already feel strained...
I wish I had money for someone to be able to be hired!

But that would make me miss out on all this,
working in my own yard, a complishment, the feeling of bliss...
