It's Love I Feel Poem by Gabriel Burnes

It's Love I Feel

Sunshine settles in your hair, your smile lights up your face.
I love the way you move hips as you go from place to place.
You're playfully delightful, so beautiful and kind.
There's a sparkle in your eyes today, with mischief on your mind.
You listen to my ramblings, as we walk by riverside.
It's love I feel, this pain is real, my feelings I must hide.

I'm dreaming now, of holding you, my arms around your waist.
And kissing you so tenderly and revelling in your taste.
With music in the background, playing love songs all the while.
I dance with you, entranced its true, captivated by your smile.
As dawn breaks across the water, there's one thing that I find.
It's love I feel, but this dreams not real! I've left reality behind!

Have I ruined everything? Can this ever heal?
I accidentally let you down and told you how I feel.
My love for yous' a fantasy, I can't help it, but it's true.
I treasure all the moments, and the time I shared with you.
You did nothing to encourage me, so there's nothing more to say.
This love I feel. It will not heal, this pain won't go away.

Know that I'll always love you, love you always true...
This love I feel, this love I feel. Marie... I love you!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A poem I wrote when I fell in love with a friend, mistaking her kindness and attention for something more. Wishful thinking! This I hope captures the essence of my feelings at the time.
