It's Over Now Poem by Valerie Dohren

It's Over Now

It's over now, those sad old dreams
are liquified and spent -
they float away as vapoured clouds
yet leaving discontent.

It's over now, I can't sustain
the hope such dreams conveyed -
when all is said and done, those dreams
were surely deemed to fade.

It's over now, and time rolls on
along the beaten track -
I'm growing older every day
there is no turning back.

It's over now, it's over now,
the flame has long since died -
those dreams were only dreams, I know,
that I am now denied.

And as the clock ticks ever on
each day becomes the past -
tomorrow is a question mark
how long will each one last?
