It's Too Early Poem by Anisa Tara

It's Too Early

Is it too early to start my party of one
To drink until the sun goes down

Is it too early to soak my skin to a wilt
To bawl till my vessels split

Is it too early to scratch my wrists
To jump off the ninth floor balcony

Is it too early to eat to an obscene bloat
To stick my fingers down my throat

Is it too early to swipe my card again
To want another purchase for this pain

Is too early start an unwarranted debate
To keep the thoughts of you at bay

Is it too early to start cleaning up
To hope the trash will take you out

Is it too early to want to write these lines
To craft a life with you that isn't mine

Is it too early to want to go back to bed
To hope that when I wake I will be dead
