Januarys First Snow

Januarys first snow

January's first snow brings with it hints,
of sadness, crumbling this facade I've
built, floodgate opens, these tears of
mine flow free, as I reminisce of fond
memories which sting my lonely heart.
Thinking back on fleeting time we,
spent wrapped in our warm cocoon of
sheets, blankets, wet kisses, lingering
affections turned wild with desire, we
made love as the outside world ceased
to hold any significance.
Our cares and worries collected in drifts
along with powdery white snow, it seemed
all we ever needed was there within our
grasp, how I long to know such days again,
precious moments meant to last.
