Japan In Its Fate Poem by Satabdi Banerjee

Japan In Its Fate

On a fateful day in Japan,1945
The clock stuck 8: 15am,
on the fateful day of 6th august,1945.
Upon the brave heart of Hiroshima,
Who was about to stand,
spellbound on its own existence,
with time to come.

The clock, never to tick it's next second,
silently witnessed the revolution of a catastrophe,
over an innocent living without a reason.

Just a will, will of power?
Position? Or mighty devastation...the reason still haunts!
A doomsday, which called upon a new definition,
Of "the greatest lord", lord,
who could behold the judgment of death over life!

It was a "little boy"!
A name, very ironically denoted,
so ruthless to challenge the spirit of the nation's creator! !
A boy, who could inflict an atomic bomb cataract, to whoever it looked at.

Life was left to burn,
rot and cry in agony.
While the Satan chuckled over destitute,
with his massive heat rise of 4,000 centigrade!
Transcending the boon,
A curse of "hibashuka" which shall leave the afterlife in phobia to continue,
traumatizing generations to come.

It was not yet over,
echoed the devil.
As it was the toll of the 'fat man' now,
to overpower the 'little boy',
Destined over Nagasaki this hour!

The Satan danced its mighty dictation,
Life Oh life!
Are you about to die?
Will you not survive?
Will you not let our creator reign?
The testing time strikes a chord,
fragile, yet in vain.

Let us leave it to "life" alone it says,
the faint call answered,
Life shall reply its ownexistence,
it's time to wait for the blessed day,
when the clock will again strike back!
The clock will strike back!
