Jasmine And George Poem by Rachel BaByBeAr Anderson

Jasmine And George

She's new here. Many watch her in suprise.
Her heart flutters,
The feeling spreads through her body
like poison from a bite.
Shakily she walks past many. Their faces sketches,
in an animated crowd.

He stands by his locker, talking quietly to his friend.
Watching students walk past, as if they were ants.
Suddenly he stops, a new ant in the clan.
Her face, a replica of an angel, glowing,
making everything around him dissolve and melt away.
His heart races, his eyes are glued to her face.

She walks past a row of lockers.
Strangers knock past, shouting to friends.
Like a boat fighting against a storm, she moves on.
The swaying of the crowd catching her, pulling to and fro.
She misses her friends, wishing they were with her.
Then a face catches her, a fish staring at her.

Her eyes lock onto his, her mind blank.
All she can see is him.
He's like a god, angelic and perfect.

He catches her glance, replying with the same stare.
Cautiously he approaches, trembling head to foot.
His pulse storming, mind questioning, blood ringing in his ears.

He swims over to her, avoiding the nets that attempt to catch him.
His perfect body swerving everything.
She stops unable to move, her legs dead.
Her eyes only seeing him.
He talks, voice as clear as a bell,
calming and soft, she cant resist.

He talks to her, throat burning,
enjoying himself, watching her face turn red.
As she replies everything else goes silent.
There's only her, voice singing like an angel.

They both know.
And one day it will happen.
