Jealous Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

Jealous

Jealous, how you cast your wicked spell,
Your dark enchantment spreads like wildfire,
Your poisoned words, they weave and they compel,
A curse that burns and feeds on deep desire.

Like witchcraft, you stir up envy and spite,
With subtle whispers, you plant seeds of doubt,
Your magic brew, it clouds the mind's clear sight,
And turns once peaceful hearts to battle shout.

You prey on every flaw, each tender fear,
A master of deceit, you spin your web,
Dividing bonds, like a puppeteer,
Your schemes, they leave a trail of broken threads.

But beware, for your own curse will backfire,
As love and trust, will rise from your cruel pyre,
For love and trust, they conquer all in time,
And with their light, they vanquish all your spells.

For though you strive to make their hearts malign,
Their love prevails, and with it, all else quells,
So let not jealousy consume your soul,
For in the end, it's you who'll pay the toll.
