Jehovah's Witnesses Or Christianity Or Home Alone? Poem by Luke Easter

I was a guest of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Tuesday night,
No kids playing, cell phones, fussing, disrespect. Alright!
It kind of made me question the theme of Christian Faith,
With all their envy, jealousy, lying, unforgivness and hate.

Cleveland, Ohio on Superior Avenue at East 118th Street,
The whole congregation gave visitors a very special greet,
Matthew 7: 21-23, “if you don’t do the will, depart from me, ”
Baptist, Catholic, what religion really practices Christianity?

It was easy to tell parishioners took plenty of Godly pride,
The parking lot was spotless as was the whole area inside,
They talked about the ills of smoking, drinking and drugs,
Students in school discussed not hanging out with thugs.

Sad that in a church your kids can’t be left alone with a priest,
Your wife with the minister or rabbi is a shame to say the least,
Ok, what is the doctrine of Moses and Jesus that was preached?
Surely not churches where children are punished by being beat.

Does your worship pay homage, give honor & glory to the Son?
Salvation is by no other means than Calvary Blood from this 1,
Exact same thing for the remission and forgiveness of our sins,
It’s the New Testament, no animal blood and never that of men.

Let’s get back to the original reason and meaning of this work,
Membership behavior is not just in but also out of your church,
All trees shall be recognized by the sight or taste of their fruit,
Temporarily camouflaged by a fancy dress or a brand new suit.

Maybe to say if this was my first adventure and I had to choose,
Ah compared to first contact with other services who would lose?
Saw more sisterly and brotherly love there that was truly sincere,
In one day than some churches I’ve been affiliated with for years.

The choice would be very easy it I didn’t already believe & know,
There is just no doubt where I would worship, to the Hall I’d go,
Only one thing is missing for sure and they truly do need to hire,
The soulful southern style rhythm & harmony of a Baptist choir.

It’s easy to form an opinion of what is wrong and what is right,
Same for families, parents are judged by what their kid’s act like,
Because the statement, “God is our Father” is accurate and true,
Question, does the world see Jesus or Satan when they see you?

So, are you presenting yourself to the population as Able or Cain?
When darkness becomes light the truth is told, what will remain?
Ask each other this, “do you run red lights as though were green? ”
Spreading the gospel of Jesus (not your own) must be the #1 thing.

Makes me wonder if attending church is actually doing any good,
There’s a multitude of messages 24/7, on television maybe I should,
Arise Sunday put on a suit and tie, turn on the word channel at home,
Assuredly, no talking and disrespect can happen while I’m all alone.
