Jesus And The Street People Poem by Roula Pollard

Jesus And The Street People

About twenty days ago I met an angel
in the park, holding a basket full of love.
Love spilling over the streets
love lighting the park, the benches, the trees
the paving stones exhausted by pain
people's anxious faces hiding love with the light of Hope

I did not see your face angel, in the dark
but I saw clearly the light of Love on Christmas day
I heard the wind's voice mingling with Jesus' silent steps
I just heard Jesus' voice blessing the street people,
people enduring hunger and homelessness
kneeling in front of him

Christmas is over for most people
but I visit the park every night at sunset
kiss the ground Jesus walked, and He appears again
followed by the angel of abundance.
He keeps hope alive in our heart as Jesus's light
intensifies in the dark. He keeps Faith and hope

Alive. You keep Faith and Hope.
My Jesus, blessed king of abundance and love
please bless all street people safe and satisfied.
My Jesus, bless street kids and babies
for yours is the kingdom, the power and the Glory
Hallelujah
