Mother Miracle Poem by Roula Pollard

Mother Miracle

Rating: 5.0

Mother, I never asked you vital questions.
What was it like
to give birth to four children
to bring up generations in poverty and spiritual wealth
to maintain high spirits in darkness
to wash us in the waters of patience
to warm our hopes with clarity
to guide us with a compass in adversities
to spring clean the world with your will?

To dry winter with your hands
to make light without an oil lamp
to keep strong your faith through rough seas
to feed us your determination like vitamins.

Your hands, clear gold, hold the Earth

Mother, I never asked you vital questions,
countless questions in my mind roll forward,
laying roots, relating to you with fact and fiction.
What ideas fed your mind, your hope and dreams?

I want to read your thoughts again:
A brave woman from the beginning of time,
without fear, doubt, uncertainty, prejudice,

Goddess like, a peasant woman, who breathed
in me hope, faith, light and LOVE.

A fair tribute in strong poetical terms to the spring of love, our mother.

From the archetypal mother Earth, to all mothers, to my mother, her immense sensibility and protection, a a mother becomes an eternal symbol.
