Jesus In The Back Seat Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Jesus In The Back Seat

Rating: 5.0

God’s sweetest fruit we long to share
From nought we choose to lack
Whilst driving life’s road to nowhere
With Jesus in the back

One thing the world must understand
God’s servants comprehend
Without the wheel in Jesus’ hand
We’ll steer no dangerous bend

Allow The Shepherd lead His flock
Pay heed to Heaven’s call
Hold fast in life cleave to The Rock
On which so many fall

Its not God’s will that one should die
That one in life should fail
That’s why Christ left His throne on high
And chose to pay our bail

We’d still in shame lie tightly chained
Through sin we’d fallen short
In filthy rags tattered and stained
Where pleas would count for nought

Its now in Christ our lives must change
Its time good seed to sow
Let Christ as Gardner rearrange
Let’s see Salvation flow

However deep however high
However grave the load
Stand firm in Christ don’t wonder why
Along the narrow road

Through faith we’ll see The Father’s face
We’ll eat of Heaven’s bread
Once Jesus’ hands with ours embrace
And when through life He’s led …
