Jimmy Cashman Poem by Francis Duggan

Jimmy Cashman

Jimmy Cashman of Inchaleigh was a good and honest man
And he was a good friend to many in his successful life span
Sad to think he's gone forever though he now can rest in peace
From the suffering of his last months he at last has found release.

Jimmy Cashman was a quiet man even to the point of shy
Not the type who would be happy to be in the public eye
A hard working family person and a pleasure for to meet
He will always be remembered in the Parish of Millstreet.

When i do return to Millstreet whenever that will be
He is one of the nice people i am never more to see
But fond memories of the man he was till my own end I'll retain
He may well be gone forever but in the thoughts of those who knew him he'll remain.

Jimmy Cashman of Inchaleigh he is one we will recall
One more victim of the reaper the one who will claim us all
He was such a lovely fellow people like him are so rare
And sad to think when i return to Millstreet he is one i won't see there.
