Joe Poem by Raymond Farrell

Joe

Joe he went to college
He was a college boy
He spent four years at college
Much to mother's joy
He was becoming something
Which made him feel so fine
Just what was this something
Your guess' as good as mine
Joe he strove with deepest care
To get that precious A
Now that is something there
And he got his A
Then he strove much harder yet
To top his class
First place was the goal he set
Never good just to merely pass
Ambitious lad he got that gold
First all the way was Joe
Was he happy with his gold?
Sadly we will never know
For he blew his brains out
Shortly after graduation.
