Joe Could Be Either X Or O - Poem by Christopher McInnes
Fair Aphrodite vied with handsome Joe
In ten hard games of tic-tac-toe
But she lost badly: she was so vexed!
Kos all she could write was XXX
Cupid thought he could beat Joe,
As he was armed with a magic bow
But when his doe-eyes met Joe’s
He drowned, and all he could write was O’s
Then Diana, goddess of Vicktery
Thought she’d win playing verbally
But under the table her leg touched Joe’s
And all she could say was OOO’s
