Johnny Got His Gun Poem by Odile Frascogna

Johnny Got His Gun

Return to what is yours

Cast aside all the doubt
That clouds your anguished mind
And the days that toughen your skin
Will be history, my friend

Burn me alive
I'll suffer for the sins you've sown
Forget what you fought to preserve
A depraved new world is waiting

All the thorns stuck in your side
And the arrows you wore so well
I'll remove them one by one

Bring to life all of your fears
I'll frighten and stun
A diamond on a landmine
The air you needed to survive

Johnny get your gun
We'll take them all
I swear I'll beat them down
Just save yourself and don't look back.
