I’m on my way to Timbuktu
Tomorrow is mine because
Universal keys today unlock
The pathway gates one at a time.
I won’t stop believing that
What I say is what I get
What I expect I will receive
No matter how often I get intoxicated
With bad, irrational, choice-detours
That James Marvin drags little Jimmy on
And I Am Boone, destined to look after my brothers.
I am in this world, not of this world
Home is the place I started my journey
And the places where I hang the many hats
The universe has fitted me to wear
On the way to the perfect fit
Placing myself in harm’s way without fear
Because I know my road is long and nothing
Will come easy, except smiles, tears and caring.
Life is not measured by the number
Of breaths we take, but by the moments
That take our breath away.
