Joy Within Poem by Maureen Alikor

Joy Within

I strayed from home
I sought relieve
I pleaded my cause
upon deaf ears it fell

I strolled to the river
I spoke with her
she was calm
she was kind
she listened to my pleas

at last I found a friend
she was near
if you need a friend
she is here

my joy indeed
my peace within
my sweet comfort
