Joyful Noise Poem by Kurt Philip Behm

Joyful Noise

When quenching
the silence
alone at the well

One ladle
awaits me
and loneliness quelled

Tomorrow resurgent
all thirst
fading fast

My shadow
refilling
— the emptiness past
