Joyous Heart Poem by Kimberly Lindsey

Joyous Heart

Eyes so bright, like stars in the sky.
Smile so big, you can not hide.
Heart, beating like the thundering of hooves.
Stomach, trembling with butterflies.

And as he kneels before you,
And takes your hand, looks into your eyes,
And says....

I want for you to be my wife,
To have and to hold, every night.

For richer, for poorer,
In sickness in health,

I will love you forever,
You are the other part of myself.

And then.....

He opens the box and takes out the ring,
Will you marry me?

As tears stream down your face,
And your lips and chin tremble,

You try not to cry, as you try to speak,
I love you, my darling! So, much, its true.
I don’t want to have to live with out you.

To have and to hold,
For richer or poorer,
In sickness, in health... till all our days are over.

Yes, my love, I will marry you!

And he slips the ring on her finger,
And in one swift motion,
Is standing with her in his arms,
Amid chaos and commotion.

Everyone is happy! !
Not just he, not just she...
For it is time for happiness at last,
For God, has blessed this union.

This day is coming in the near future,
I am blessed by God, in so many ways!
My family, my children, and now my love,
I shall be happy to the end of my days.
