Judgement Poem by Zoby Cristal

Judgement

Don't judge by what you see
Everything isn't what it appears to be
Instead of trying to perceive
Get to know the real me

I've heard so many assumptions
That are idiotic to say
Not everyone in a race behaves that way
Not all blacks sell drugs
Not all whites are slicks
Not all dominicans are dumb
Not all asians know kicks

No hidden thoughts
No words left unsaid
You may not know what comes next
That person could be the one yet

Will your judgement be the same
Or will you regret
That was a mere stranger before you met
Now is he the same person as you expected him to be

You don't know anyone's story
Even the people who put on the toughest acts might be dying from your attacks
Watch your words and what you say
Because maybe it is not that way
