Judgement Poem by Hillary Unknown

Judgement

Judgment comes quick
As I feel sick
Guilty! They seem to scream
As they now deem
Us to jail
I let out a wail
As we’re lead separate ways
I strain to hear what you say
“Don’t give up” I hear
I try unsuccessfully to hold back my leer
There’s no hope left
I now feel bereft
It was just a mistake
I ache
As I realize
This is probably the last time I’ll see you with my eyes
“I love you” I cry
And feel my heart die
As there’s no response from you
Then I look back and see that you too
Have tears streaming down your face
I turn mine as my composure unravels like lace
Then I see the Light
And regain my will to fight
I break free
And see you running towards me
I run into your arms
And know there will be no harm
To be done
For we’ve found the One
Who makes us clean and new
And He let me come back to you
