Judy (Updated) Poem by Jarrod Sain

Judy (Updated)

It's been almost a year since you left
I don't even know where to begin
A big hole resides in my heart
That will never be filled again

A young man on roller blades
A young lady behind the counter
I rolled in looking for a job
And ended up finding something greater

That is how our story began
Not a fairytale like some might hope
But we became friends right away
And great love was soon to catch up

No matter the struggles we had
We persevered and did not bend
And thru it all no matter what
You were always my best friend

Other than the love we shared
You blessed me with responsibility
Helping you raise three beautiful children
I couldn't wish for a better family

Emily is the eldest
A wonderful woman of God
Becky is the baby of the trio
With maturity all should applaud

Jacob's in the middle just like me
An awesome, strong young man
And as far as children go, this father
Couldn't be more proud of all of them

Even though we were apart
The last months of your life
The love I had for you was more
Than just a man's love for his wife

I can't say if our last two years
Could be your fault or mine
But I am so very very sorry
For failing you at any time

I'm sure you've already forgiven me
That's just how big your heart was
And long ago I forgave you
Just as God has forgiven both of us

The caring light your heart shown
Could make the darkest shadows flee
And after 27 years together
I pray your kindness now emanates from me

Remembering countless good times
Will be an awesome joy I must say
But I shall now bid you farewell
Knowing we'll be reunited one day
