Julius Caesar Poem by arwa kachwala

Julius Caesar

Rating: 5.0

In the game of battles he scored the highest runs,
After defeating Pompey and his sons.
Although loving and generous to his mob
Cassius and Brutus thought his intention was to rob.

He had many wives but Calphurnia was dear,
And the senators he had were mad puppets mere.
He had a sharp eye in observing,
And could differentiate between the clever and the boring.

But alas! The ides of March was the last day of his life
But it wouldn’t be so if he listened to the advice of his wife.
After being flattered by Decius, he went to the capitol,
Where all the conspirators waited, cruel and brutal.

At the capitol the conspirators stabbed him without fear,
Of what was going to happen in the near.
After being stabbed by his beloved Brutus, he accepted his defeat,
And all his blood ran out at his foe, Pomoey’s feet.

The mightiest of the mighty, the bravest of the brave,
He is now sleeping courageously in his grave.
After extending the Roman Empire to the east and west,
And taking care of it like a bird does for its nest.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

You're right: Caesar's soul loved taking care of human kind. He did not hear Calphurnia, did not he? Well, that one was his third wife. He had other things in his mind, in those ides of March. He wanted to manage his power, but if one was against him, he left him free to do what one wanted.
