Just A Glimpse Poem by Alex Perez

This is just a little wild glimpse; unsubtle and intense,

created out the mind; so open your eyes and don't squint.

Scrutinize and be hypnotized by the power of the tongue,

uttered out the mouth from a heart that bangs like a drum.

This is no story of love; nor is this the story of the pain,

this is the glory of a poet expressing the echoes of the mind that feels no shame.

With every urge that i feel and every blood and tear drop that I spill,

I'm easily replenished by the courage and the faith that's so real...

And to top it all off... It gives me a deep inner thrill.

There's a reason I'm reaching out,

it's to inspire society as a whole; to step and speak out...

Discover who you are and let your soul exhale from out the mouth.

Knowing who you are gives you wisdom beyond any age; just like a mage...

It's true magic to see yourself through another set of eyes,

you can understand self honesty if you can rid yourself of the lies.

Self trust is a must... Even with love and lust; there's a boundery that seperates the two that leads you to the truth,

you just got to be true to yourself and let your actions be the proof.

We all have a reflection... And when you see your own; do you like who you are?

Or do you just despise yourself and keep the emotions locked inside like a jar?

If you do... Then you need to relax and remember that everything you've done is past tense,

and try to discover who you are and what you can be...

... Because this life is just a glimpse.
