Just A Half Please Sire - Poem by Tara McHale

A half makes all the difference,
the difference of half a chance,
and half a chance of any success
is worthwhile, perhaps, at first glance;
but a glass half full is half empty, still
and in the missing half lies the bitter pill;
that half a try
is nothing less
and that is why
it's nothing more;

and ultimately,
it seems to me,
not worthwhile to endure.
