Just A Makebelieve Phone Call Poem by Asha Adeana

Just A Makebelieve Phone Call

A phone call at night
Just before I close my eyes
To hearing his voice when I go to bed
Hugging on the pillow tight
Knowing that your still here
Not leaving like everyone else
All those hello
You’ll never know
Just how much your voice makes me dream
Just helps me get away
Watching everything fade slowly
Right out of my touch
Just letting it fall
For I never wanted all this
I just wanted you at night
To feel needed
To fall asleep in your arms
Never going to wake
From the dream your voice makes me flow
Right into make-believe
Into your arms so tight
So now I just wait
For that phone call at night
Just before I close my eyes
Hugging my pillow so tight
And not crying because your voice makes me smile
From ear to ear but you'll never see
For the phone never rings
