Just A Whiny One Poem by Effie Yalena Steyn

Just A Whiny One

This dead ground I'm stuck in isn't going away,
I'm pretty sure I just made the biggest mistake,
and I miss you here every day.
I'm sick of turning my head away,
from the fire I am in to the path I should take,
and I'm sick of these sick little games.
I'll be the girl you complain about,
I'll be the girl you love to hate,
I'll be the one that's worth the wait,
worth the pain.
This dead ground I'm stuck in isn't going away,
And too many moths are flitting round my brain,
Feeding on the smell, once pure, now decayed,
As I crumble under pressure to change.
I'll be the one you'll be proud to face
I'll be the one that time can't erase
I'll be the one you'll be sorry for
losing every day.
