Just Another Game To You Poem by Alex Searle

Just Another Game To You

I was lost and left on the plain
The eagles singing my name
And underneath the marble sky
Another soul waiting to die
It's just another game to you

I heard your voice in the desert groan
You told me you were taking me home
And when rains fell for the first time in years
I heard you laughing, laughing at my tears

Tell me mother nature

Did you spring the trap
Cause you know I knew the way back?
Did you let me live only to love you more?
Or is it just another game to you?

You bound up my wounds in a daze
Then came the time for us to part ways
There was no turning round in the rain
'Cause I know it's the same

The same old game to you

Call the moon by her name
Like a pawn in a game
All the sand, every grain
Washed away in the rain

It's just another game to you
