Quantum Love Poem by Alex Searle

Quantum Love

Rating: 5.0

There's an addictive self pity
That creeps in
When the night
Cuts cold
And the early morning wolves' cries
Grow bold

It was on the last night of winter
Our lascivious affair came to its halt
Such splendour
Why is it sweeter when it shouldn't happen?

Time escapes your sense and grasp
Like the sun cowering from the sky
And as the sunset dawns
At our beach
I'll be looking for the lovers;
splashing
laughing
loving

And I'll scamper away
Lengthening my side of this
Unholy triangle

Geometric heartbreak
Quantum love
Love has no logic,
Logic knows no lust

I tell myself as I light my half of the candle
Let me burn
until you do
