If I hurt your feelings, make me aware
Don't just sit and look and stare,
Please, please let me know what I have done
So, I can apologize unto you and every one.
If I didn't listen well enough
Please tell me with words, and not with a huff or a puff,
Tell me again in a way that I'll understand
And not with a look or with a fierce command.
If I'm insensitive to your desires, or to your thoughts, or to your needs
Please tell me so I can consider them as my deeds,
Don't keep those feelings locked in a box on the shelf
And don't hold an attitude because you haven't clearly expressed yourself.
I'm just a human, and I'm not a mind reader
And I'm not Jesus or Paul or Peter,
So, before you judge or cry or are hurt or full of hate
If I did something wrong, please first just communicate.
