...Just Friends (Ish) - Poem by Frankie Renae

And yet there you stand
180 days later
200 thoughts greater
So much more than friends
This is how you and I became
Everything I feel
And it's all the same, so real
Half a hundred kisses ago
You crossed everything I know
Each line drawn in red
Everything I'd said
Crossed out my clear image of you
And as the blurs come through
Hope this never ends
Not my head resting on your chest
Not your smilin' face
Everything that's messed, replace
With whispering songs together
Sing forever, forever
And repeat those trends

Caus I'm sick of singin' alone
Tired of thinkin' about you
Honest, with all things shown
Not one moment without you
Since we sat in December's hands
And 180 days later
You're 200 thoughts greater
This season's reality gleams
I just want to scream
I wanna be with you
Those words you say
On the night of summer's first day
So much more than friends
Here we go forever again

Chorus:
180 days later
200 words braver
180 days' flavor
200 thoughts greater
Forever, forever
I wish it could last
So take me past jaded
Forget passed the past
Don't tell me complicated
So repeat that first move
I wanna be with you

And yet here I stand
180 day seep in
200 thoughts deeper
We hope this don't end
Despite words and because of them
Against what we'd said
Caus we want just friends and more
It'd crazed by decision; you're tore
We live and hope in this whirl
Need not be your
If I can stand to stand waiting
Not screaming or dating
If I can stand to trust
Flying nor crying
If I can hold your hand lightly
Not shine too brightly
Just playin', tastin', wishin'
Sayin' hatin' indecision
You can hold my hand today
I won't pull away

Chorus

Caus I'm sick of singin' alone
Tired of thinkin' about you
Honest, with all things shown
Not one moment without you
Since we sat in December's hands
And 180 days later
You're 200 thoughts greater
Ask if we're thinking words to say
Nothings and silence,
I don't know, I don't care
These words we say
But there's one hundred somethings there
So much more than friends
Here we go, like we do, again

Chorus
