Just Horsin’ Around Poem by Marilyn Lott

Just Horsin’ Around

I love to take a little time
On a summer afternoon
The air so warm and inviting
With that lazy kinda toon

Maybe go to the fair awhile
Just stroll around and look
Exhibits showing everything
They get you kinda hooked

Tomatoes fresh and plump
Cotton bolls all fluffy and white
Stuff collected from every where
And displayed so perfectly right

Native grass so fascinating
You wouldn’t believe how many kinds
Like little plumes of yellows and greens
Such amazing delightful finds

Vegetables plucked right out
Of the gardens of local folks
So much fun to stand around and visit
Exchange a few quirky jokes

It’s a place where you can meet
People from far and wide
So take the time to enjoy
Fresh air and sun outside

But don’t forget our 4-legged friends
The horses displayed on the grounds
Yes, take a day or two, folks
To just go horsin’ around!
