Just Let It Be Poem by Braden Patton

Just Let It Be

Rating: 5.0

It might just kill me to make you cry,
So please don’t ever say goodbye.
I know it’s hard, but please don’t fear,
Everything will be all right, my dear.
I can only hope that you’ll come back to me,
My love, like a dove, I have set you free.

Now this is where I struggle for air,
The earth starts to shake and begins to tear.
The moon falls from the sky and stars glimmer.
The wind blows and I can’t help but shiver.
If only you were here to calm my seas,
Maybe I could catch the breeze.

You steal my breath and make me question my sanity,
You remind me that I’m no different from the rest of humanity,
So maybe ill finally come to understand,
That my feelings and thoughts shift like sand,
And now I find that my vision will fade,
Like the sky does sometimes when the sun goes away.
The trees and seas covered shade,
Hidden in the dark and fog that stayed,
Like where our love is now,
Confusing and hazy,
That makes me believe I’m going crazy
And not even you could prove me wrong,
Although I know you will play along,
And maybe after all that all has passed,
We will find comfort and accept our past,
Because we know what we are doing is right,
Like the way the sun knows to shine.
Being together is what we do best,
And I’ll swear on the breath of my sunken chest,
That I can make this love last,
Without trouble, faith, or relapse,
I know you are meant for me,
And if I am meant for you,
Well, then, just let it be.
