Just One - Poem by Kelly Kurt

There are two hundred ninety two fonts on my computer
I use just one

There are dozens of spoons in my utensil drawer
I eat with just one

There are scores of different routes to the post office
I travel just one

There are plenty of reasons to be humble and kind
I need just one

There are over seven billion people on this planet
And
I am just one

Topic(s) of this poem: hope, humanity, life, love, memory, nature, philosophical , philosophy, thought, thoughts

Very nice poem and theme, but what do you mean by just one in the last stanza? Did you mean ALONE?
I did enjoy the poem. Thanks.

    Nicely and well done.
Is there a reason for the punctuation in the second line first couplet?
    It seems superfluous...

There are a thousands reasons to be an a-hole, but we need just one to be a nice, compassionate person...

And, on a different note - there are many kinds of alcohol and vodka is ONE - ;)

Thanks for sharing Kelly.. This one is amongst your best poem..

Sublime and humble thoughts of one man. Just one heart, one soul, one being, one small part of humanity with millions of thoughts, ideas, opinions, yet still only being just one. Really simple and great message of humility and how insignificant each one is even though special in reality. Another great poem, Kelly, love it! 10++++ Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn (Report) Reply

Thank you, RoseAnn. Most of us would rate ourselves as above average. That is a statistical impossibility. I am just another man

The reason I think that all people are so very precious and special is that I don't have any belief in a god
