Just One Chair Poem by bobby beddoe

Just One Chair

I stopped at a garage sale sign Saturday.
Didn’t need nothing but stopped anyway;
Saw a deck-table
With a price reasonable,
But only one matching chair on display!

Lady said, “I’ll take whatever you want to spend,
Since I have just one chair with it to send.”
“Just the one chair will due”,
I said without argue,
“For my now asleep better-half - I’ll pretend! '
