Just Wanna Be Me! - Poem by Solomon Ndichu

This is what most of us feel;
Like a puzzle which can be solved by solving the rest
Why read it's hint!
Like a muddy house 'bout to be demolished
Why bother saving it!
Like a company drowning with no straw
Why invest in it!
Like a lion cub in the wild with a shuttered spine
Why waste energy whispering 'King'!
Like a pawn without defense from an enemy queen
Why bring the king to get a mate!

This is what most of us wanna feel;
The middle piece of the puzzle that must be begun with
Am the COA and you must know me!
The fortress that cant be demolished
Am the one you run to when distressed.
The company that to capsize you'll have to come down too
Am used to breathing under water but you are not!
The lion with so much power it's peers fear it
Am too strong for a weakling like you
The chess king who must be protected at all costs
Am your only hope of winning, I die you die!

But to be plainly honest we wanna be able
To always freely express ourselves in and out
With no cuffs, no strings attached, no judgement
'I just wanna be me! '
