Justitus Poem by Joshua Bantum

Justitus

It’s the best I’ve found,
Jus- upright in morals, fair and equal,
-titus, a praenomen,
An ancient Roman general’s first name,
Signifying one’s honorability,
These were the people who carried out
Justice in the name of
Justitas,
Or Dike,
Gods representing the pure form
Of concepts we’ve been unable to
Replicate.

Do I think we live in a Jus-
Society,
Well no,
But I think we never have,
And never will,
Do I think we should give up,
Well no,
‘cause I think we never have,
And never will.
