Kangaroo Smile Poem by Edmund V. Strolis

Kangaroo Smile

Rating: 5.0

We should delight that the trees are green and the sky is sometimes blue.
I smile at the kangaroo and get lost in the roar of the thundering falls.
I relish bare feet in the wet grass of morning
and butter melting easily on warm thickly sliced bread

We should praise our good fortune for so many wonderful friends
I smile at their humor and cherish the help and their good will and trust
I have a treasure trove over-flowing with memories
and most of all the knowledge of shared pain and laughter

We should not become victims of these troubled times
I remember the lessons of many a history book revealing this world's story
I realize that the adventure has always had peaks and valleys
So we must smile with the kangaroo whenever we can.

Yes. Let us move ahead smiling through life's peaks and valleys. The kangaroo smile is infectious. Another poem of yours which I read and commented upon just a few minutes ago (Marking Time) had made me too sad. The blues have blown away with this one. Thanks. (10)

The thing is Madathil life will never have a shortage of reasons to think that life is all only one long valley. I believe it takes some effort to never forget how to climb to greater heights. Your words are good to hear as they reveal a reflective person. For that I am most grateful to know you and meet you upon this peak......where the Kangaroo smiles.
