Kashmir Poem by Masroor Shafi Bhat

Kashmir

Hallucinogenic pastures
Running over full stretch of an eye,
Layed with sizzling tender
Green canvas, uneven humps and
Wide blend fissures across.
Ruthless and whistling tides hitting
Stiff lustrous rocks, kissing away
The cranky roots of
Deodar Trees.

Through bushed and cozy alleys,
Hollers from local vendors resting over
Spiced bridges.
School kids stuck with dilemma,
Enjoy the company or anxiety of long day study.
The rush of streets and endless
Traffic.
