Keep Far Away- - - - - - - -"Friend" Poem by Genice Lorraine De Fabriciano

Keep Far Away- - - - - - - -"Friend"

Friends and poetry lovers,
Be careful who you trust
Who you listening to?
Who's in your ear?
Some people want what you have
Whatever it is
Like the Joneses
They would even leave you
With nothing, that's not ok
They don't want you to really be happy
Really, it's just pretend
Jealousy
If they see you have nada
They may act real sweet
But inside they're conniving
Trying to plan for your retreat
Jealousies
When can they get the rest
Of your happiness
That's what they think
Acting all the while they want
Good for you, their friend,
The Best of friends
Then the worst
They are not 'Besties' nor best friends
Not even a so called friend

Some say opposite of this,
But I am saying,
Don't keep your enemies closer
Keep them far Away- - - - - - - -"friend"

Sickening, I know,
But has happened to me
So many times with best friends
Of mine, ex's, well, most
Some.
I still host some love for some
Who knows, why? I feel sorry
For their childhood, or in a denial
To lose them is the trial
Burning bridges hurts
There's no words to describe
The emptiness I feel inside
When a great friend betrays my insides
Deny. Deny. I want to deny
But it stares me in the face
I try to run Away- - - - - - - -"friend"
But I have to admit the truth
The ruthlessness of you
It won't go away
So instead
I get to the point of no return
And decipher true facts
For future protection
Results tabulate, wronged answers
No admission of guilt
Blind with no regrets
Your choice, "friend"
