Keep The Pillar And Change The Paint Poem by Patrick Ong

Keep The Pillar And Change The Paint

Should I cast doubt on what I learn from you
Under you even a small guy’s dream could come true
We used to worship and treasure you as the righteous and just
Whilst many others deteriorated and covered with rust

Since when you use a new method to grow greed
Hundred times faster than the wildest weed
Sprout on every structure in sight and every street
Into homes forcing occupants to ultimately live in dump pits

Do you really need so much for so few
Do you forget to install a brake when you have the accelerator built
Don’t you see travelling in such a velocity would cause a crash
All previous hard work and effort turn into ash

Have your invisible hands gone too far
Go deep into every pocket of the poor and the middle class
Have you as a good guy mixed with the wrong bunch
That roam around freely and eat raw human meat for lunch

Where do you go from here
With your itinerary map unclear
Should you now travel with proper brakes and mechanics
Mix with the right bunch that aren’t cannibals and eat only veggie organic
