Keeping Faith Poem by courtney metcalf

Keeping Faith

Pull me off my knees
I'm far too weak
And, I mean, I'm trying
But invisable glory is hard to seek
It's tough to reach for someone you cannot touch
Tough to sit and use praying like it's a crutch
Life hits hard
Sometimes death hits harder
How am I supposed to carry on faith
When I just keep straying farther

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My grandmother passed away and made me want to believe in God because I wanted to believe she was in a better place where I could someday meet her again, but I didn't feel like a good enough person to be a Christian.. Now I know that there is no such thing as a perfect Christian.
